Types of Abandonment
Spousal abandonment occurs when a person leaves their spouse without warning or justification and is unable to be located after reasonable attempts to find them.
Child abandonment happens when a parent or guardian either exits a child’s life or refuses to provide for the child’s needs, whether physical, emotional, or psychological.
Neglect is any failure (whether willful, careless, or through indifference) to provide for the needs of someone for whom one is responsible.
